Bookkeeping Assistant
Hours: Flexible 20-40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Set your own hours and break times.
Contract: 6 months. Opportunity to progress to a full-time permanent role with greater responsibilities after completing the contract.
Pay: $18-25 per hour depending on experience level. Potential contract upon successful completion of the contract includes hourly wage review.
Location: ½ or full day per week in Whitby office for processing paper invoices/receipts. Other hours are flexible, either remote or in the office.
Dekker Security is seeking a Bookkeeping Assistant to join our rapidly growing small business! In this position, you are a key team member, working directly with our Bookkeeper and Owner to keep track of our day-to-day financial accounting activities.

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare quotes and invoices for clients and vendors using the Odoo accounting management system
- Collect invoices from suppliers and enter them into the system
- Billing reconciliation and tracking in Excel
- Scan and input receipts and invoices into the system
- Reconcile and track payables/receivables
- Support Bookkeeper on financial accounting reports
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to track and prioritize many incoming and outgoing invoices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Competency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
- Knowledge of Odoo Accounting software is an asset, not required
- Co-op or early career experience in AP/AR, bookkeeping
